Air Cargo Transportation Provider Purchased

Alpine Air Express


An entity controlled by KEB Enterprises, owned by Kenneth E. Brailsford, purchased a controlling interest in Alpine Air Express on May 7, 2014.

Alpine Air Express CEO Gene Mallette, who acquired the company in 1986 and guided a turnaround strategy that led to continued growth, sold his more than 80% in Alpine Air Express common stock.

Brailsford will be the new President and CEO and will retain Bill Distefano as general manager with Michael Dancy taking over business development.

Alpine Air Express provides on demand, non-scheduled air cargo flights to 16 cities in 6 states with its fleet of 25 aircraft. The regional air cargo provider has been providing charter flight service to a diverse client base for more than 40 years.

"Alpine Air Express is an exciting company that's been well managed since its inception and we're excited about the future," Brailsford said about the recent acquisition.

Headquarters and a maintenance facility are located in Provo, Utah with operations based in Billings, Montana.

Alpine Air Express has become a leader in the regional air cargo industry while focusing on providing the highest quality customer service, adapting efficiently to change while enhancing safety programs and offering rewarding career opportunities to its employees.

As part of the purchase agreement, Alpine Air Express in expected to merge with the purchasing entity, which will remain as the surviving company.
